The main thing we at Parish Roofing Solutions want to make clear is this: When we begin work on your roof, your home becomes an active construction site. That means it can be very loud, and it can potentially even be dangerous for people who aren’t working on the roof. 

For those reasons, we recommend that no one be outside during construction. Whether you stay home or go somewhere else is completely up to you. But do keep in mind that there will be a lot of noise. 

Some people prefer to take the day off of work so they can monitor the roof replacement process, which is completely acceptable. Just bear in mind that if you work from home or have plans to do things that require focus, it might be difficult with the noises of machines and hammering. 

Another thing to also consider is taking your pets out, if you have any, as pets tend to be sensitive to the noise as well. We’ve had many people who board their pets the day of the roof replacement to help keep them calm. 

Things to Consider when having your roof replaced

There are also a few things to consider when getting a roof replacement, and those are what you want us to do with gutters and any satellites you may have. 

Gutters

One of the problems with gutters is that they tend to get damaged by falling debris during a roof replacement. So you should consider whether you want to keep the same gutters or just have us replace those as well. 

If you want to keep the same gutters, we’ll want to remove them while constructing the new roof and put them back on afterward. 

If you want to get new gutters, we can install them during the roof installation, no problem. 

Satellite Dishes

The use of satellite dishes is pretty outdated now, and yet we see them on roofs all the time. Satellite companies will install them on your roof, but they usually don’t come out to remove them once you terminate your services. 

And even if they are still in use, they can cause a lot of problems. In fact, one of the biggest causes of leaks we see is from improperly installed satellite dishes. This is because they are installed by satellite companies, not roofing companies. 

So if you have any satellite dishes you would like us to remove, let us know before we get started.
